DX Spotting

Recommended Posts

I currently use:
www.dxheat.com/dxc
www.dxwatch.com
https://www.dxmaps.com/spots/mapg.php

And the DXspotting feature in N3FJP is nice.

If you're a digital mode guy, www.pskreporter.info is a great site. It's an easy way to check propagation, find out who hears you. For example, not a lot of stations to west hear me on FT8 because my vertical antenna is on the balcony on the east side of my QTH and barely above the roofline to the west.

This is a new propagation tool posted by someone on the SCARS page on Facebook.

www.hamspots.net is another one that I've grown fond of, especially chasing FT8.

You can search by callsign, search by band (or multiple bands), see who the most spotted calls are for a specific state and much much more.

Ham Alert is another good one that Perry N5PJ turned me on to.

I find the website is easier for setting up alerts.  There's an Android app (not sure about iPhone) that you can use as well.

Really flexible for setting alerts.  I tried it during the 13 Colonies event, trying to hunt down the last stations I needed.  So, alerts for spots for callsign K2Z and mode being CW was easy to setup, and alerts right on my cell phone.

what is the app name on android so I can get from apknite? On IOS, you might refer to Mocha Telnet Lite.
